Revered across Siberian, Russian, and Northern European folk medicine for centuries, Chaga — known botanically as Inonotus obliquus — is a unique parasitic fungus that grows primarily on birch trees in cold climates. Unlike typical mushrooms, Chaga forms a dense, dark conk (sclerotium) on the outside of the tree, accumulating beneficial compounds over years of slow growth.
