TEELIXIR ORGANIC MUSHROOM TURMERIC LATTE (WITH CORDYCEPS MILITARIS)
A warming, golden-hued latte blend that combines organic turmeric with Cordyceps Militaris mushroom, black pepper, and Ceylon cinnamon. Teelixir's Mushroom Turmeric Latte is a caffeine-free take on the classic "golden milk" tradition — enhanced with the vitalising power of Cordyceps Militaris, one of the most researched functional mushrooms for energy and physical endurance.
The Cordyceps Militaris in this blend is a 10:1 dual extract from certified organic, lab-cultivated fruiting bodies. Cordyceps Militaris is the cultivated species — delivering consistent levels of cordycepin and adenosine, key compounds associated with energy production and oxygen utilisation. The addition of black pepper provides piperine, which is traditionally included alongside turmeric to enhance the bioavailability of curcumin — turmeric's primary active compound. Ceylon cinnamon adds a warm, sweet spice note without the coumarin concerns of cassia cinnamon.
All ingredients are certified organic. Caffeine-free. No sugar added. Third-party tested for purity and heavy metals.
THE HERITAGE
This blend draws on multiple ancient traditions: Turmeric (Curcuma longa) has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for over 4,000 years — "golden milk" (haldi doodh) is one of India's oldest traditional preparations. Cordyceps (Cordyceps Militaris) has been revered in Traditional Chinese Medicine for centuries as a tonic for vitality and endurance. Cinnamon was one of the first spices traded in the ancient world, valued by Egyptian, Chinese, and Ayurvedic practitioners alike. Teelixir brings these traditions together in a single, golden latte blend.

The Science
Each serve of the Mushroom Turmeric Latte delivers 0.64g of Cordyceps Militaris 10:1 dual extract — equivalent to approximately 6.4g of raw Cordyceps fruiting body. Two serves daily provides 1.28g of extract, at the upper end of the range explored in human performance studies.
Key bioactive compounds: Cordycepin (a naturally occurring adenosine analogue), beta-glucan polysaccharides, adenosine.
- Hirsch et al. 2017 (PMID 27408987): Randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in 28 healthy adults. At 3 weeks, the treatment group showed improvements in VO2max (+4.8 mL/kg/min vs +0.9 in placebo) and time to exhaustion (+69.8s vs no change) at a dose below the Teelixir per-serve extract equivalent.
- Jedrejko et al. 2026 (PMID 41829950): Narrative review of all 5 human intervention studies on Cordyceps Militaris (321 participants). Reported improvements in selected aerobic performance and recovery parameters across studies. Authors note findings are promising but inconsistent across trials.
- Mechanism: Cordycepin is an adenosine analogue — it interacts with adenosine receptors involved in cellular energy signalling and ATP synthesis. This is the mechanistic basis for Cordyceps Militaris research into energy and endurance.
Black pepper (piperine) in this blend supports the bioavailability of curcumin — the primary active compound in turmeric. Ceylon cinnamon is selected over cassia varieties for its lower coumarin content. Cordyceps Militaris has been documented in Traditional Chinese Medicine for centuries as a tonic for vitality and physical endurance.
