Pairs well with

A three-product set of certified-organic adaptogenic tonics — sourced honestly, lab-tested, and prepared without fillers. The Restful Holiday Bliss Set brings together three of Teelixir's most-loved daily preparations: a caffeine-free cacao latte built around reishi and rose, a 10:1 dual-extracted reishi mushroom from 100% fruiting bodies, and a 10:1 dual-extracted ashwagandha root. Three separate canisters. Bundle priced at a discount.

These are foods and herbal preparations — daily tonics in the East Asian and Ayurvedic traditions, not modern stress-relief products. The traditions they come from are measured in millennia.

What's in the set

Mushroom Cacao Latte

A caffeine-free latte powder combining certified-organic raw cacao (Theobroma cacao), 10:1 reishi extract (Ganoderma lucidum) and certified-organic rose petal. Earthy, naturally chocolatey, no added sugar.

A heritage of adaptogenic tonics

Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for more than 2,000 years. It is recorded in the Shennong Ben Cao Jing — China's earliest classical pharmacopoeia — and was classified as a "superior" herb, the category traditionally reserved for substances thought to be safe for daily lifelong use. The Chinese name Lingzhi translates as "Herb of Spiritual Potency."

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) has roughly 3,000 years of documented use in Ayurveda — the classical Indian system of plant-based medicine. The Sanskrit name combines ashva (horse) and gandha (smell), referring to the characteristic earthy aroma of the dried root. It is one of the herbs Ayurveda classifies as a rasayana — a daily restorative tonic.

Cacao (Theobroma cacao — "food of the gods") was prepared as a ceremonial drink by the Olmec, Maya and Aztec peoples for at least 3,000 years before becoming a global food crop. Rose has a parallel history of culinary and herbal use across Persian, Chinese and Ayurvedic kitchens.

The word adaptogen itself comes from a different lineage — Soviet pharmacology. In 1947, Soviet scientist Dr Nikolai Lazarev coined the term to describe a category of plants studied by his research group for their use in the daily routines of athletes, soldiers and cosmonauts. Reishi and ashwagandha are both classified in the modern adaptogenic category. The category is a botanical and historical-research designation — not a therapeutic claim.

Compounds, not claims

What the old traditions called tonic herbs, modern phytochemistry has begun to characterise at the compound level. The set is built around three well-defined bioactive families:

  • Beta-glucan polysaccharides (reishi) — long-chain carbohydrate molecules concentrated in the cell walls of medicinal mushroom fruiting bodies. Our reishi extract is COA-verified at 31.7%, against a ≥30% specification.
  • Triterpenes / ganoderic acids (reishi) — the bitter, fat-soluble compounds that give whole reishi its characteristic flavour. Captured by the ethanol step of the dual extraction.
  • Withanolides (ashwagandha) — a class of naturally occurring steroidal lactones unique to Withania somnifera. Our root extract is standardised to ≥2.5% withanolides.
  • Theobromine, magnesium and flavanols (cacao) — the naturally occurring compound profile of raw cacao. Theobroma cacao is among the most flavanol-dense food crops studied.
  • Polyphenols and naturally occurring aromatics (rose petal) — the compound profile responsible for rose's distinctive scent and traditional culinary use.

How to use the set

These are foods and tonics designed to be folded into a daily routine, not taken as a short program. Consistency matters more than dose. The simplest starting points:

  • Mushroom Cacao Latte — 2 teaspoons (≈6g) mixed with hot water or your preferred milk. Caffeine-free, so it works as a morning, afternoon or evening drink. Naturally chocolatey.
  • Reishi (10:1) — ½–1 teaspoon (1–2g) daily. Most customers prefer it in the evening, mixed into hot water, herbal tea, or a warm cacao. The earthy bitterness is the signature of the triterpenes — start small and build up.
  • Ashwagandha Root (10:1) — ½–1 teaspoon (1–2g) daily, mixed into coffee, smoothies, golden milk or warm milk. Earthy, root-like flavour. Some take morning, some evening, some split the dose.

All three are ACO Certified Organic, third-party batch-tested for purity and heavy metals, and contain no fillers, no flowing agents and no proprietary blends.

Frequently asked questions

What does "adaptogen" actually mean?

It's a botanical category, not a therapeutic claim. The term was coined by Soviet pharmacologist Dr Nikolai Lazarev in 1947 to describe a class of plants — including reishi, ashwagandha, schizandra, eleuthero and rhodiola — that Soviet research groups studied as daily-routine tonics for athletes and soldiers. The category survives in modern phytochemistry as a way of grouping plants with broadly similar traditional use patterns. Australian regulators classify these products as foods or dietary supplements rather than medicines.

Why three separate canisters instead of a pre-mixed blend?

Each ingredient has its own preferred usage — reishi as an evening tea, ashwagandha mixed into coffee or smoothies, cacao latte as a hot drink. Pre-blending them would lock you into one ratio and one preparation. Keeping them separate lets you use each in its own ideal format and adjust the dose of each independently.

What's the bundle discount?

The set is automatically discounted off the combined retail price of the three component canisters. The discount is applied at the cart level — no code required.

Are Teelixir products tested?

Yes. Every batch of every Teelixir product is third-party tested for purity, heavy metals and active compound levels. The reishi batch in this set (COA C24052105) confirms 31.7% beta-glucans against a ≥30% specification — a verified number, not a marketing estimate. Each component canister has its own COA available on its product page.

Are these products safe to use daily?

Reishi and ashwagandha both have multi-thousand-year traditional histories of daily use. They are foods and dietary supplements, not pharmaceuticals. Recommended daily serves are listed on each product page. As with any new dietary supplement, consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, or have a medical condition. Ashwagandha may influence thyroid function — consult your practitioner first if you take thyroid medication.
